Krazy Horse Quilter's Challenge

In honor of the one-hundredth anniversary of the Pendleton Round-Up in 2010, the Krazy Horse Quilters of Pendleton, Oregon, is issuing a challenge to all quilters titled "100 Years of the Pendleton Round-Up." Participants are invited to create a 24" x 36" (61cm x 91cm) quilt depicting their vision, memories, or interpretations of the Pendleton Round-Up. Cash prizes will be awarded. Quilts must meet size requirements as well as the standard "sandwich" requirements of a top, batting and back, and must include a four inch hanging sleeve. Participants may not use the "Let'er Buck" slogan or the official silhouette picture of the rider on the bucking horse in their work as these are copyrighted items, and may not be used without explicit permission of the Pendleton Round-Up. Quilts may be traditional or artistic and anything in between, as long as they comply with the above requirements.
The quilts will be displayed for the first time in May, 2010, at the Krazy Horse Quilters' show, with all quilts being due by April 20, 2010. The second showing will be during the 100th anniversary of the Pendleton Round-Up the second full week in September, 2010. Thereafter we will be sending the quilt exhibit on tour to several venues throughout the US and internationally.
