If you missed my previous post on the Oregon's Sesquicentennial Blanket that our Governor gave to President Obama check it out, the blanket is beautiful! Now I want to invite you to visit Pendleton, Oregon and take a free factory tour and see the Indian Trade Blankets being woven. Pendleton Woolen Mills is also celebrating their 100th anniversary this year and have opened a heritage museum. The museum includes the families collection of Native American artifacts, blankets, and company history. All of this is at no charge so you can save your money to take home a blanket of your own.

Mt Hood is a snow-covered challenge, a majestic muse, and a reminder of why we in Oregon call this paradise home. Called Wy'east by the Multnomah Tribe, Hood's iconic peak has watched over our maverick innovations for 150 years of statehood. It's no wonder designer Patty Fogarty was inspired to use it as the centerpiece of Oregon's Sesquicentennial Blanket. The snowy mountain against a serene sky and its peaceful reflection are bordered by 15 trilliums and 15 ferns, each representing a decade of Oregon's statehood. Each leaf and petal reflects the stories, accomplishments and wisdom of our citizens.
EVERY BLANKET COMES WITH A STORY CARD AND LETTER FROM JOHN BISHOP, CHAIRMAN OF PENDLETON WOOLEN MILLS. WOVEN ON OUR JACQUARD LOOM IN PENDLETON, OREGON. SIGNED AND NUMBER LABEL
